Inspiring Local Entrepreneurship


Nowadays, in Indonesia, spirit of entrepreneurship is spreading. Many young people want to be entrepreneur. We can see that, entrepreneurship can run the economy. It can reduce the high number of unemployment. Indirectly, it will also help government to against poverty. However, to survive in the tight competition in the market, an entrepreneur should be unique and also can contribute directly to help society around him. In this essay, I would like to discuss, how important we bring local potentiality in our business.
Before we are going to our discussion, let we see the entrepreneurship in our environment. Many entrepreneurs can’t play their role as well as possible. Entrepreneur should be the person who not only run the business for the profit to himself but also develop the society and help other people by creating the opportunities. Actually, we already have some of excellence entrepreneur such as Sandiaga Uno. However, to give significant changes, we need more excellence entrepreneurs. It challenges us, a young generation.
The diversity in Indonesia is one of advantages to build entrepreneurship. From Sabang to Merauke, each of regency has its own local potentiality. In fact, people in rural area still can’t maximize their local potentiality to be accepted in larger level. For example, in Nipah Panjang, Jambi, this area has great sea potentiality such as shrimp, fish, lobster, squid and etc. The fishermen usually sell their fish to Singapore because the access to Singapore easier to reach than market in Jambi. There is no facility that provide by government to them.
Besides that, Nipah Panjang also near to Berhala Island. Actually, this place is really high potential to be tourism place. It has beautiful scenery, historical value (there is funeral of Datuk Berhalo, a husband of Jambi Malayan Queen) and it has delicious food from its sea. However, it is not what it should be. The people in Nipah Panjang also can’t enjoy their richness sources because of lacking in managing it.
This is what this essay will discuss. As seen from the illustration above, we know how important local potentiality to bring in entrepreneurship. If local potentialities are managing well, it will improve the quality of life of people at there. We can also get profit by modernizing and modifying it. The most important is, it will be unique because we bring local values that always have characteristics.
Bringing the local potentiality in business is a new thing. It is need new generation to do that. It is our task. The benefits for young entrepreneur are they full of energy, full of idea, and full of creativity.  They are risk-taking people. These qualities will help them to design what kind of business that they will make. The challenges that faced by them are how to ask the people to involve in their project and how to get capital. They may also get loss in their business. They need really great mentality to do that.
The solutions that I offer to them are: meet the society to get closer with them and hear their voice. Besides that learn from the expert experience, read as many as book to motivate, attend the seminars and training that related to entrepreneurship and join the entrepreneur club to share and learn from them.
 As the agent of change, young people, especially young entrepreneur must take a part of change. They have to be the answer of people hope. By using their knowledge, spirit and creativity, they will be the best generation to develop the society through entrepreneurship.

The Third and I still HATE it!

Saya tahu semua orang punya masalah yang harus diselesaikannya masing-masing. Postingan kali ini bukan tentang masalah apapun. Bukan juga untuk menunjukkan seberapa arogannya saya. Sepuluh Mungkin bukan angka favorit kebanyakan orang. Tidak juga saya. Saya menyukai angka sembilan dan tujuh. Kenapa? Untuk angka sembilan saya tidak punya alasan. Angka tujuh? Ini karena keluarga inti kami berjumlah tujuh orang. Ini alasan mainstream. Setidaknya untuk saya dan adik-adik perempuan saya. Sepuluh Ini adalah angka yang selalu ingin dicapai anak sekolah. Lambang supremasi bahwa mereka mencapai nilai tertinggi. Kertas yang tertulis tinta merah 10 dan tanda contreng dan paraf guru, adalah harta berharga yang bisa dibawa pulang dengan berlari untuk segera ditunjukkan pada ibu di rumah, bahwa hari itu, hari itu, sang anak berhasil. Walaupun saya sendiri jarang menunjukkan pada Mom, angka-angka yang berhasil saya raih. Mom dan Ayah tidak terlalu tertarik dengan angka-angka itu. Validasi

Late post, written on June 30, 2013 Didedikasikan untuk semua teman dari masa kapanpun, dimanapun Mom menasehati kami untuk tidak terikat pada masa lalu. Yang sudah berlalu ditinggalkan saja, karena jika masih dibawa-bawa ke masa sekarang, ia tidak akan pernah relevan. Karena kita akan terus tumbuh dan meluas sehingga tak cukup mampu lagi untuk menampung semuanya. Maka dari itu, masa lalu dilepas saja. Biarkan ia tinggal dibelakang. Kenanglah orang-orang yang berjasa, lupakan yang pernah menyakiti. Saya setuju dengan Mom dan ini bukan yang pertama kalinya bagi kami, untuk satu pendapat. Ha, darah lebih kental daripada air. Kami banyak kemiripan, setidaknya itu yang saya rasakan. Satu-satunya yang Mom miliki, tapi belum saya miliki adalah keberanian Mom yang sebesar Tembok Cina!
